Make a paper outline first
Measure the usable wall area, including anything that may interrupt it: shelves, switches, cupboards and doors. Then mark the width and height of the option you are considering with a paper template. Step back to the place where you will usually see it.
For a piece above a desk or workbench, look at the template with the furniture in place. For a garage wall, check the view with cupboard doors open as well as closed. These simple checks can help you decide whether to change the size or the location before ordering.
You can also use the templates to compare two designs. A 60 × 6 cm rectangle and a 60 × 77 cm rectangle make the difference between a narrow wordmark and a tall crest much clearer than the phrase “60 cm wall art.”
Read the specifications for the piece you choose
Our Porsche, AMG and Shelby listings specify 2 mm steel with a matte powder-coated finish. They also describe spacers that hold the artwork away from the wall. Those details belong to those listings; the Ferrari listing should be checked separately for its specifications.
The mounting requirements depend on the selected piece and wall. Check the instructions supplied with your order before installing it. Do not choose a wall fixing simply because it worked for a different decoration.
Is an emblem the same as a car silhouette?
